Junior Brittany
Beeghley from Pickerington HS North captured the
2012 Girls State Bowling Championship with a 654
series (226, 234, 194). |

2012 OHSAA State Girls Swimming and Diving Champion - Division I

CANTON, Ohio – The
Golden Bears from Upper Arlington scored 300.5 points en
route to winning the Division I girls swimming state
championship for the eighth consecutive year.
Upper Arlington was led by freshman Grace Long, who brought
home a first place finish in the 100 freestyle (50.71) and
then contributed to the 200 freestyle relay and the 400
freestyle relay teams. Long joined Jessica Miller (Sr.),
Jenny Smith (So.) and Gabby Veri (Sr.) to win the 200
freestyle relay with a time of 1:34.68 then teamed up with
Lauren Comer (Sr.), Smith and Veri to win the 400 freestyle
relay with a record-breaking time of 3:24.24. They were UA’s
second consecutive titles in both events.
Other first place finishers included Columbus Bishop
Watterson senior Camey Rabold, who won the 200 freestyle
(1:49.52; 2011 runner-up), Pickerington Central junior
Maddie Martin (the 2011 Swimmer of the Meet), who won the
100 butterfly for the third consecutive year (54.27).
In the Division I diving competition, Powell Olentangy
Liberty sophomore Olivia Ball claimed the 2012 crown with a
score of 493.20. |
