OHSAA to Employ On-Line Electronic Entry for 2003 Track and Field Tournament

Dr. Deborah Moore, Assistant Commissioner, notified District and Regional Track and Field Managers that On-line Electronic Entry will be used for the 2003 District Track and Field Tournaments.  The system has been under construction for several years.

Moore said in her email notice, “We believe we are now at the point where we can attempt this process starting with the first level of the tournament - District - all the way through the publishing of the final results of the state tournaments”.

Schools will be notified of the new process via a specific message to all athletic administrators of member track and field schools. The OHSAA web site will contain all the information that a coach will need to enter the District Track and Field Tournament to which that school is assigned.

District Officials Choose Athletic Director of The Year

The Central District Officials Committee has selected Jerry Bell, Athletic Administrator, as its Athletic Director Of The Year Award.  Bell was chosen from among five athletic administrators nominated for the honor.  The award will be presented at a meeting of the District Officials Committee in the near future.

The Licking County Basketball Officials nominated Bell.  The Association made the following comments in its nomination. “Up this way in the COL, Jerry Bell and his staff at Dublin Coffman do a great job of accommodating officials and taking care of details.  Jerry always personally welcomes officials and introduces us to the individual assigned to take care of officials. Jerry himself is a high school and NCAA Lacrosse official and knows how we like to be treated. Jerry makes Dublin Coffman a great place to officials and handles crowd control masterfully.”

Jerry Bell is President of the Central District Athletic Board.
